Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how HousingStreet uses cookies and similar technologies on housingstreet.com and related marketing pages. The HousingStreet admin application uses separate authentication cookies governed by our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Local storage and session storage work similarly for preferences. They help sites remember logins, choices, and aggregated usage patterns.

How we use cookies

Strictly necessary

Required for security and basic operation. These cannot be turned off in our banner because the site would not function correctly without them.

• cookie-consent (local storage) — remembers your cookie choices for up to 12 months
• Session and authentication cookies on app subdomains — keep you signed in securely (httpOnly, set by our API)

Analytics (optional)

Only loaded if you accept analytics in our cookie banner. We use Google Analytics 4 and/or Google Tag Manager when configured, to understand page views and conversion funnels. IP addresses may be processed by Google according to their policy.

• _ga, _ga_* — distinguish users (up to 2 years)
• _gid — distinguish users (24 hours)
• _gat — throttle request rate (1 minute)

Functional preferences

• Theme preference (light/dark) stored locally where supported
• Marketing auth bridge tokens during cross-site sign-in flows

Marketing cookies

When you allow marketing cookies (or in regions where analytics load by default and you have not opted out), we may load advertising tags via Google Tag Manager — including Google Ads remarketing, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, and, when configured, LinkedIn Insight and X (Twitter) ads tags. These help us measure campaigns and show relevant ads to people who visited housingstreet.com or started a trial. You can change your choice anytime via Cookie settings in the footer.

• Google Ads / DoubleClick cookies — ad measurement and remarketing (when Ads tags are active in our GTM container)
• Meta (_fbp, _fbc) — Meta Pixel and Conversions API matching (when configured)
• LinkedIn / X advertising cookies — only if those tags are enabled in our GTM container

Third-party cookies

Stripe may set cookies on checkout pages to prevent fraud. Embedded content (e.g. videos) may set their own cookies if you interact with them. Review those providers' policies for details.

Managing your choices

• Use the cookie banner on first visit — Accept All, Reject non-essential, or Customize
• Clear site data in your browser to reset preferences
• Install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on if you accepted analytics and later change your mind
• Block cookies in browser settings (may break sign-in and preferences)
