## What this is [#what-this-is]

A **property type** is a template — apartment, house, land, and so on. Each type has its own fields (bedrooms, lot size, etc.).

A **custom field** is an extra question you add — like "pet friendly" or "preferred move-in date" on a client record.

## Steps [#steps]

  <Step title="Open property types">
    Go to **Settings → Property Types**. You see types for your country (house, condo, etc.).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit or add a type">
    Click a type to turn fields on or off. Click **Add type** if you need something custom for your market.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open custom fields">
    Go to **Settings → Custom Fields**. Pick whether the field is for **Listings** or **Clients**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a field">
    Click **Add field**. Name it, pick a type (text, number, yes/no, dropdown), and save.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test on a new record">
    Create a test listing or client. Confirm your new fields show up in the form.

New listings and clients ask for the exact info your team needs — nothing more, nothing less.
