## What this is [#what-this-is]

After you create a listing, you will open it often — to fix a typo, swap photos, publish, or file it away when a deal closes.

The **listing detail** page shows photos, stats, and quick actions. The **edit** page is the full form for every field.

## Steps — open and edit [#steps--open-and-edit]

  <Step title="Open the listing">
    Go to **Listings → Properties**. Click the listing title (or the row menu → **View**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start editing">
    On the detail page, click **Edit** (top right). You land in the full edit form with sections: Basic, Details, Location, Features, Media, SEO, and more.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update fields">
    Click a section in the left sidebar. Change price, description, bedrooms, address, or any other field. Required fields stay marked until filled.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your work">
    Scroll to the bottom bar and click **Save Changes**. A green **Published** or gray **Draft** label shows the current status.

## Steps — photos and media [#steps--photos-and-media]

  <Step title="Open the Media section">
    In the edit form, click **Media** in the sidebar.

  <Step title="Upload or remove">
    Drag photos in, or click to browse. Delete shots you do not need. The first image is the cover photo on your website.

  <Step title="Save again">
    Click **Save Changes** so new photos stick.

## Steps — change status [#steps--change-status]

Listings move through a few statuses. Here is what each means and how to change it.

| Status        | What it means                 | How to set it                                                          |
| ------------- | ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Draft**     | Saved but not on your website | Default for new listings, or click **Unpublish**                       |
| **Published** | Live on your storefront       | Click **Publish Property** in Quick Actions                            |
| **Sold**      | Deal closed (sale)            | Tracked for reporting; unpublish when the sale completes               |
| **Rented**    | Deal closed (lease)           | Tracked for reporting; unpublish when the lease is signed              |
| **Archived**  | Filed away, not active        | Click **Delete** on the detail page, or bulk **Archive** from the list |

    Open the listing. In the right sidebar under **Quick Actions**, click **Publish Property**. The status badge turns green **Published** and the listing appears on your website.

  <Step title="Unpublish (back to draft)">
    For a **Published** listing, click **Unpublish** in Quick Actions. Visitors no longer see it, but you keep all data.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Archive when you are done">
    When you no longer need a listing active, click **Delete** in Quick Actions and confirm. HousingStreet archives it (status **Archived**) — it is hidden from your active list but kept for records.

  <Step title="Archive several at once">
    On **Listings → Properties**, tick the checkboxes on multiple rows. In the bottom toolbar, open **More** → **Archive**.

## Steps — duplicate a listing [#steps--duplicate-a-listing]

    On the listing detail page, find **Quick Actions** in the right sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Duplicate">
    Click **Duplicate Property**. HousingStreet creates a copy as a **Draft** and opens it for you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tweak and publish">
    Edit the copy (new address, price, photos). Save, then publish when ready.
  </Step>

You can also duplicate from the properties list: row menu → **Duplicate**.

## Expected result [#expected-result]

Your listing shows updated fields, photos, and the right status badge. Published listings appear on your storefront; drafts and archived listings do not.
