## What this is [#what-this-is]

A **smart list** (segment) is a saved filter — for example "all buyers in Miami who contacted us this week."

The list updates itself when new clients match your rules.

  <Step title="Open segments">
    Go to **CRM → Clients**. Click **Segments** in the top tabs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start a new list">
    Click **New segment**. Give it a clear name like "Hot buyers — downtown".
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add rules">
    Click **Add filter**. Pick a field (stage, city, tags, source, etc.) and set the value. Add more rules if needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview the count">
    Watch the client count at the top. It should match what you expect before you save.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and use">
    Click **Save**. Open the segment anytime to call, email, or export that group.

The segment shows the right clients today and keeps updating as new people match your rules.
